Some quick tips and tricks for putting on and putting on disposable gloves.

✴ Make sure the glove's packaging has not been tampered with or damaged. 

✴ If you are allergic to latex, choose a nitrile or vinyl-based product - this ensures that you won't have a reaction that could leave your hands sore and dry. 

✴ If a glove rips or tears, wash your hands and put on a new pair of gloves. 

✴ Do not wash disposable gloves and use them again later. 

✴ Check that gloves are not too tight - pinched skin, excessively sweaty hands, overstretched material and limited dexterity all indicate gloves that are too small and more likely to break. 

✴ Use a new set of gloves for each different task you perform to minimize the risk of cross-contamination.

✴ Make sure you choose the correct thickness level for the task at hand. Some disposable gloves are puncture resistant, while others are designed for ease of movement and are therefore thinner. 

 

It is a good idea to train employees who must wear disposable gloves on a regular basis. Check that they know and understand the consequences of using this form of protection incorrectly, and make sure you only provide the highest quality for their use.

Plastic bag recycling (also known as plastic film recycling) can get tricky if you don't know what kind of plastic the bags are made of. Grocery store drop-off bins for plastic bag recycling accept polyethylene film, which includes high-density polyethylene (also known as HDPE or #2 plastic) and low-density polyethylene (also known as #4 plastic or LDPE).
